Urban Haiku

This week's topic at one deep breath is to write haiku about the city. The topic was posted while I was at work today (I took a sneak peek on the work computer) so my brain was able to start churning while I drove home in busy rush hour traffic.

at the traffic lights
smoke rises into the sky
from car exhaust pipes

in the sliver of sky
between car yards
a Russian dome

cubist reflections
make windows of sunlight
on concrete walls

These are all cool, but I LOVE the last one - in particular the combo of the haiku and the photo. That ROCKS!

these are great (though I'm coughing and sputtering with the first ;) and I agree there's something magical about the last one - the photo and the haiku (zen like perhaps?!)

Great work Catherine - that brain and imagination was certainly helping the creativity along on the way home. Way to commute!

These were both wonderful. I so appreciate the Russian church dome, I'm Orthodox. And the cubist one was fantastic.
