Journeys

This week's theme for one deep breath: journeys

through the windscreen
an unfamiliar landscape
the journey begins

seabirds follow
the wake of the ferry
a thread between islands

Oh, these are good :-)

I'm loving this week's prompt (at least the things others have written; haven't gotten to mine yet).

Terrific photos and Haikus, especially "...an unfamiliar landscape, the journey begins." That's the best thing about traveling - one never knows what might happen next or what you might see. Lovely!

Oh, I love that last haiku. And that first photo.

I like both haiku, but especially the second. And both photos are very cool.

Thanks everybody. I'm a bit lazy sometimes, I lifted the "thread between islands" line from an earlier poem. I might put it on my blog sometime.
The car windscreen shot is from a trip to Australia - we were on a motorway overbridge in Brisbane. The other one is the ferry between the North and South Islands of New Zealand, somewhere in the Marlborough Sounds. It's a very scenic journey. I relied on photos already in my collection for this prompt, and came up with haiku to match.
