Quilts in the Library

When I went to the library this week I found a display of quilts on the wall. These quilts have been made by a group set up for new immigrant women. They learn sewing skills, improve their English and make friends. The quilts are made from donated fabric, but many of the women are quite particular about what colours they use, and it shows in the wonderful results.

It was difficult to get a good clear photo with the racks of books in the way. I had to stand close and photograph upwards, so the quilts came out skewed - I have straightened them as best as I could in Photoshop (no doubt an expert Photoshop user could do better).

Blogger wants me to update to the beta version - should I? I tend to operate on the assumption "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Does anyone know whether beta works any better with Safari than the old version?

One thing I've noticed lately is that I seem to have to sign in a lot more often, even though I keep ticking the "remember me" box.

Ooooh, nice exhibit! I especially like some of the more abstract ones, and that cheery heart quilt.

I haven't been asked to switch yet, but have been hearing some not-so-good things about Beta, so I'm leery. I have no info on how it works with Mac/Safari though, as I use a PC and Firefox.

I like the one in the last photo, second from Left. And the orange looking one with the hearts! I shall also look at that blogger beta. There are still some odd things which happen in Safari, compared with Firefox.

And hello, Michele sent me!

I think the quilts look terrific on the wall like that. I'm surprised more people don't use them for decoration.

And from what I hears, the new blogger is supposed to be easier to use, but I'm also of the "don't fix what ain't broken" school.

Beautiful quilts!! I have not upgraded, since things are fine for me as is. Even using Safari. I have not had to sign in at all.

I knew a girl in college who got really creative with the quilts she made, there was a meaning for every color and shape!
