Time for a Photo...

We are having a wonderful mild autumn here. Since the early settlers introduced trees from various parts of the globe, some are bare already while others have barely started turning colour.

I took a stroll this afternoon and took these photos:

Some extra seating has appeared at the local bus stop!

A closer look. Perhaps someone thought they would wait in comfort.

This tree/shrub on the nearby corner always seems to glow at this time of year.

I feel privileged to live so close to this beautiful river:

Your tree with fruit looks as though it is a Persimon...
Try baking it (cutting off the top) and then spread vanilla sugar on it for at least 30 mins in a moderate oven, or until flesh is soft and mushy...
A drop of ice-cream makes in nice as well!!
Enjoy!!
(FYI, we have one in our yard and we have also planted a Chocolate Sapote which can be used in Lamingtons...)

Unfortunately it's not my tree - I don't know the people who own the house where it is, I just admire the tree when I go past. I thought it was a persimmon, unless it is a mandarin. I may get some persimmons from the supermarket and try your recipe.

I love the chair! Looks comfy; just hope it hasn't been rained on...

Michele sent me and what a surprise to find a fellow Kiwi. I love the Avon River so pretty. I am an Aucklander so don't get to see it that often :)
Have a great weekend.

Hello,Michele sent me.

I was a little confused by your post until I realized your were in NZ. I like the extra seating but the whole area looks wonderful.

I love that last shot. How idyllic that must be. I can almost hear the quiet "shoosh" of the paddle.

Michele sent me,

Mike

It does seem strange to be seeing fall leaves.

Thanks for the comment you left me.

Michele sent me over to your hemisphere, Catherine. Hi!

The seat by the bus stop looks like it might be adversely affected by rain. I hope it finds a way to stay dry! The persimmon looks nice but it's the river that I love the most. It'd be so great to go kayaking every day!
