Terrific photos and Haikus, especially "...an unfamiliar landscape, the journey begins." That's the best thing about traveling - one never knows what might happen next or what you might see. Lovely!
Thanks everybody. I'm a bit lazy sometimes, I lifted the "thread between islands" line from an earlier poem. I might put it on my blog sometime. The car windscreen shot is from a trip to Australia - we were on a motorway overbridge in Brisbane. The other one is the ferry between the North and South Islands of New Zealand, somewhere in the Marlborough Sounds. It's a very scenic journey. I relied on photos already in my collection for this prompt, and came up with haiku to match.
She tried hard to be like the others/she struggled to catch a ball/she never quite managed a cartwheel/after much practice she stood on her head./When she grew up she turned to science/she thought she would turn the world upside down/after a while she realised that the world had stayed in its proper place all along/and she was still standing on her head.

I'm loving this week's prompt (at least the things others have written; haven't gotten to mine yet).

truly beautiful haikus!
I like both haiku, but especially the second. And both photos are very cool.
