Haiku: Boulders, Rocks, Stones and Pebbles

Haiku for One Deep Breath:

a granite landscape
in the cleft of a boulder
a tree shelters

these fallen stones
a roof open to the sky
the hearth grows cold

And a bonus photo, which I love but haven't come up with a haiku for yet:

Feel free to leave a haiku in response to the last photo.

All photos were taken in Scotland during September.

  1. Lovely photos, especially the first one. I love trees that manage to hang on in unlikely places like that

  5. These are wonderful. The haiku makes me wonder what stories the stones could tell!

  6. Cathrine, I am a sucker for stones and rocks and this post pleases my soul!
    Love it.
The haiku? that came to me was:
    Catch me
    I'm
    falling ...

There is a form of haiku that uses humour - rengu? maybe that's what my weak effort is trying to be!
Your haiku now, well, that's just lovely.
And I know what you mean about being 'let off the hook' re having to post - I can't wait until the 30th and then I am taking a loooong break (will probably still read other people's posts though.)
