I took a stroll this afternoon and took these photos:
Some extra seating has appeared at the local bus stop!

A closer look. Perhaps someone thought they would wait in comfort.

This tree/shrub on the nearby corner always seems to glow at this time of year.

I feel privileged to live so close to this beautiful river:

Your tree with fruit looks as though it is a Persimon...
ReplyDeleteTry baking it (cutting off the top) and then spread vanilla sugar on it for at least 30 mins in a moderate oven, or until flesh is soft and mushy...
A drop of ice-cream makes in nice as well!!
Enjoy!!
(FYI, we have one in our yard and we have also planted a Chocolate Sapote which can be used in Lamingtons...)
Unfortunately it's not my tree - I don't know the people who own the house where it is, I just admire the tree when I go past. I thought it was a persimmon, unless it is a mandarin. I may get some persimmons from the supermarket and try your recipe.
ReplyDeleteI love the chair! Looks comfy; just hope it hasn't been rained on...
ReplyDeleteThe river's gorgeous. What a wonderful place to live!
Michele sent me. Have a great weekend, what's left of it!
Those photos are gorgeous - especially the river!
ReplyDeleteMichele sent me and what a surprise to find a fellow Kiwi. I love the Avon River so pretty. I am an Aucklander so don't get to see it that often :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Hi Catherine.
ReplyDeleteMichelle says Hi.
The chair is hillarious, pillow and all! The river photo sure is great too. It looks like fall where you are....?
Hello,Michele sent me.
ReplyDeleteI was a little confused by your post until I realized your were in NZ. I like the extra seating but the whole area looks wonderful.
I love that last shot. How idyllic that must be. I can almost hear the quiet "shoosh" of the paddle.
ReplyDeleteMichele sent me,
Mike
Catherine, that 3rd photo is especially lovely.
ReplyDeleteAnd seats appearing at a bus stop....WHAT a civilized place you live in!
It does seem strange to be seeing fall leaves.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment you left me.

Wow, looks so gorgeous. What a wonderful place to soothe a soul.
ReplyDeleteMichele sent me over to your hemisphere, Catherine. Hi!
ReplyDeleteThe seat by the bus stop looks like it might be adversely affected by rain. I hope it finds a way to stay dry! The persimmon looks nice but it's the river that I love the most. It'd be so great to go kayaking every day!
Hi! Michele sent me. Great pics.
ReplyDeleteHi! Thank you for taking us on the walk with you -- I really enjoyed this! The chair is sweet and the shrub really does glow. And the river looks magical.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Catherine! The river looks so peaceful & relaxing...
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting! And Michele sent me your way!
I love the photo of the persimmon, the light is just wonderful.
